Dear Parent/Carers
We are nearly at the end of term and I wanted to take this opportunity to thank all the parents for their support during this very difficult time. We have worked hard to remain open in a safe manner that maintains social distancing and good hand hygiene during this Coronavirus pandemic.
The last day Calverton school will be open for our bubble children will be Friday 17th, so that we are able to arrange special goodbye picnics for every child in the school on Monday 20th or Tuesday 21st July.
Sadly we will not be able to accommodate all children from each class in one picnic, as we need to maintain social distancing. So your child has been carefully selected by their class teacher to ensure they are in a group with their friends. Each class will be split into 2 groups and each group will have a 2 hour picnic in school, in order to say good bye for the summer to their friends and teacher, as well as collect any PE bags, books or lost property.
You will receive a text message with the time and day of your child’s picnic with their teacher on Wednesday 15th July. If you have not heard by the end of the day please phone the school office on Thursday and Friday.
Your child does not need to wear school uniform but can wear party clothes. They will need to bring their own packed lunch/party food, sadly they will not be able to share their food due to social distancing rules.
Can they also bring a bag to carry any books or belongings home at the end of the picnic.
Please support the school by maintaining social distancing when bringing your child to school and only arrive at the time given, no earlier or later. Each picnic will be outside, so please ensure your child has a coat if the weather is cold or hat/sunscreen if hot.

School will reopen on Monday 7th September and the times for each class starting will be staggered, more information will be sent over the summer holidays and be placed on the school website.
